Property in Oybin
Oybin is a spa town in the Zittau Mountains in south-eastern Saxony and belongs to the district of Görlitz. The small municipality, with just over a thousand inhabitants, lies a few kilometres south-west of Zittau, close to the border with the Czech Republic. The town is known chiefly for the rocky hill of the same name, with the ruins of Oybin Castle and Monastery, and for the Zittau narrow-gauge railway, which has one of its terminus points here.
Oybin is a suitable place to live for people seeking a quiet location in a low mountain range landscape and willing to accept journeys to Zittau. For students at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the town is more of an alternative to living directly in the city. Due to its tourist character, a property here may also be considered as an investment, for example for letting as a holiday flat.
